It’s time to perfect your pose and lockdown your catwalk strut, as Miami Fashion Week (MFW) descends on the city between May 31 – June 5, 2022. This annual event invites fashionistas, artists and those in the creative world, to preview the very best collections by renowned international designers. The Ice Palace Film Studios downtown is the location for runway shows, however when Fashion Week arrives, most parts of the city celebrate one way or another. If you’re planning a trip to the city for MFW, here’s a quick lowdown.

Achingly cool, fashionably on trend, and showcasing all the neutral tones – Miami luxury villas are as chic as the fashion houses themselves. When in Miami, you’ll want to stay in the sleekest villa near to all the action. Top of the list is South Beach. This is the ultimate spot for people watching and soaking up the local fashions, as well as being central for all the after-hours shenanigans. Villa Melissa is the perfect example of a local stylish luxury Miami villa with its minimalist décor in this zen-like oasis. Like most luxury villas in Miami Beach, it’s complete with an infinity pool that looks out to uninterrupted views across the Bay. Perfectly close to all the action, Downtown and Brickell is a young hip spot, within easy reach to all the runway shows. Best of all, you’ll find yourself close to a number of rooftop bars and swanky restaurants, as well as galleries and green space for making the most of your visit.

With its local ties and melting pot of cultures, expect a distinct Latin flavour for SS22. Designers including Angel Sanchez, Ana María Guiulfo and Yirko Sivirich are amongst some of the names expected to attend. For now, the organizers are keeping very hush hush, but details are expected to be announced shortly on the official website: www.miamifashionweek.com To give you a flavor of what to expect, previous runway shows have featured Roberto Cavalli and Benito Santos amongst names. Honorary President Antonio Banderas also tends to host a Benefit Gala to support local charities – it’s yet to be announced if this will return in 2022.

Aside from your Miami villa rental, the best parties in town require VIP tickets or invites. While these are set to be announced once the runway schedule is revealed, we expect the Wynwood Exchange and Fashion Institute of South Florida will have their fair share of soirees. One party spot not to be missed is LIV at the Fontainebleau. This sexy clubbing experience is a popular haunt with Fashion Week lovers and brings all the fun vibes. Dance until the early hours in this world-class hangout, located in the heart of Miami Beach. Nearby, the W Hotel is another chic bar for after party vibes. Come here for a cool cosmopolitan and rub shoulders with the fashion brigade. The next party spot to hit up is the SLS on South Beach – this stunning waterside spot is also the choice for many ‘Miami Swim Week’ after parties, taking place in the weeks after Fashion Week. For something more laid back, why not try out the soothing tones of Sea Spice, a favorite with Beyonce and Jay-Z. You won’t be pushing salad around your plate here, with elegant waterside dining, the perfect choice for wining and dining with colleagues.
